New York City is host to many venues that present powerful, free (or nominally priced) art, lectures and discussion programs as a resource to increase knowledge, community participation, and literacy.
Real University will actively promote specific lectures under the name Info Unit. The overall strategy of Info Unit is to use the multitude of existing alternative educational resources as tools to augment (y)our struggling formal educational system.
This is not intended to be a complete digest of lectures and panel discussions in NYC. Our hope is that by presenting a few interesting choices, which have been brought to our attention, more people will be motivated to explore the vast amount of literary/educational events New York City has to offer.
We want to continually remind you that education
doesn't only happen in school...but if you're in school, USE IT!
