We combine artistic and social empowerment to help people think more critically as a global citizen about the creation of art, technology and social policy. The Purpose Lounge creates an artistically framed dialog between artists and concerned citizens about the issues of the day with the goal of establishing a greater sense of societal ownership and involvement. In addition to our creative artistic focus, we enable and motivate people to use their skills to help others in the form of mentor training. Portions will be filmed in a C-Span-like format to be archived and viewed on this page to keep the conversation going. Archive launch May 2009.

This exciting month of events commemorating February's Black History Month celebration is an introduction to our Purpose Lounge program that will launch in June 2009.

The Purpose Lounge will be held during the
BLACK WOMEN PHOTOGRAPHERS IN AMERICA
exhibition presented by
ReconstructArt & chashama Harlem Studios Gallery
