| EVEN into his 90s, Moe Fishman never missed a protest. So it was only fitting that the memorial service for Mr. Fishman, an Astoria-born radical who fought Fascism in Spain in the 1930s and in his later years demonstrated against the Iraq war from his folding chair in Greenwich Village, was equal parts a celebration of his life and a rousing antiwar rally. |

| Update: On Oct 5, the last possible day before the army was set to re-try Lt. Watada for refusing to deploy to Iraq, a federal judge issued a stay order, stopping the court-martial until at least Oct 26, or until further order of the court. This Friday, Oct 19, the judge will hear oral arguments on “double jeopardy” – whether Lt. Watada can be tried again for the same “crime”. |
