Miss Oats Health Notes

Emotionally Fat and The Biggest Loser
more

I’ve been getting complaints… “Where’s Miss Oats?”

I’m here.  I’m here.  I’m here.

Geez.

No excuses.  I’d fallen into a rut, and am out now, and back on track.  It's so easy to get wrapped up in unhealthiness!  All is takes is a day or two of not paying attention.

Celebrity Fit Club is nearly through it’s season, and The Biggest Loser started last night.  I love these shows.  Some people assume that these shows are amongst the slew of boring reality show.  I view these shows as motivation.  The Biggest Loser helped me through the early stages of my weight loss.  I could watch this show and see “regular” people losing weight and gaining control of their lives and realized that I could keep going!

We (my boyfriend and I) started on Phase I of Dr. Ian Smith’s “Fat Smash Diet”.  Phase I, AKA detox, which is 9 days long, is basically vegetarian.  This was not easy for my sweetie, as he is a meat and potatoes kind of guy, he stuck it out as best as he could though, and I’m proud of him.  I believe he’s lost 10 lbs and I lost about 8.  With the 3 or 4 ‘quitting smoking and slacking off all summer’, pounds I gained, this now puts me at approximately 15 lbs to my original goal.  Of course, I’m no longer satisfied with this goal (this goes hand in hand of my state of mind being “emotionally fat”), so I’m changing my goal and setting it for an additional 10lbs.  So, approximately 25lbs from here!

What do I mean by “emotionally fat”?  What I mean is, even though my body is much smaller, in my brain, my body is still quite large.  I have a few friends who also lost a large amount of weight, and they are “emotionally fat” as well.  Some people have said that eventually the brain catches up with the body, others have said it never goes away.  Let’s hope it goes away soon, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I receive a lot of articles on health and weight loss issues!  Keep them coming, I love them!

Until Next Time!

To Good Health!
