The Orwell Doctrine

The Orwell Doctrine was created for a free 9/11/01 window display commemorating the 6th anniversary. T.O.D. uses 1984, Animal Farm, Katrina and 9/11 to make visible the historical connective tissue of devices and tactics used to manipulate and control the masses. It is illusory to believe ones self to be safe in a society where the mere thought of something could be a criminal act, as defined by the state. The ever-increasing blurry line between police beating peaceful protesters in a "brutal dictatorship" and police using tasers on peaceful protesters in a "democracy" should be disturbing to anyone who could bother to care.
Whether Goldstein, Snowball, Saddam Hussein or Usama Bin Ladin, it makes very little difference to the people at the painful end of the oppression. The game plays itself out the same in each situation.
