We are thankful to have support for our community-grown urban redevelopment initiative to transform the Hancock T&T Community Garden into the Hancock T&T Community Backyard Garden Park. The response to our programming, its beautification, and the ability to sit and enjoy being in the park has been amazing. For many, it's their first time in a greenspace in Bed-Stuy that was designed, built, and managed by the community. By designing the park to be a flex presentation space, it created new opportunities for the enhancement of community / cultural cohesion and multi-generational engagement in a serene, socially engaged, family-friendly environment.
We need your help to maintain this vision. 35 months into this redevelopment initiative, we received a citation of honor for creating, building, and managing the park from Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. [pictured below] That will forever remain as an incredible validation for the vision behind the Hancock T&T Community Backyard Garden Park.
100% of the donations go to the maintenance and programming of the park and garden. All park staff are volunteers and receive no monetary compensation.
