> [1/16/06] Abstinence is now 20 YEARS OLD! I have had many lives since its inception and still hold it as one of the most valued projects I've conceived. I'm thankful for everyone that I've been introduced to and worked with because it existed. Darryl Hell
Throughout 2006 we are going to release a number of soundfiles of vintage Abstinence material [including pre-Furnace/Silent Records productions] as part of an entire year of celebrating Abstinence @ 20! Check out our history page to see where and how it all started.
> [1/16/06] In Fall 2007, Abstinence will release a DVD [including a number of audio-only tracks] entitled, "Abstinence 2121"
> [1/15/06] We apologize for the lag in updating the site and for the delay on getting "Path" to you. Do to other obligations (you now may know that the "other" obligations we spoke of was Darryl Hell producing the "Death In June: Behind the Mask" documentary) we've had to put the Abstinence project on hold.
Now that "Behind the Mask" is out, we will continue with our vision to release "The Path of Maximum Resistance" as a live performance DVD, which we plan to shoot in Spring 2006 and release in Fall 2006.

[2004] Abstinence
is proud to announce the addition of Dave
Dodson (Deftly D) to our lineup.
His skills in programming, percussion, and other experimentation is going to greatly enhance our return to live performance after 9 years, as well as out studio efforts.

[2004] We
are also extremely elated that John Bechdel,
Killing Joke / Prong / Murder Inc. / Pigface / and most recently
ended his 5 year stint with Fear Factory, will continue working
with Abstinence. He'll primarily be working on studio efforts, but
don't be surprised if you see him on stage.
